A renovation is a hundred small specifications made under time pressure. Plan them as a board, with the lead time and the room on every item, so nothing is chosen the morning a fitter asks for it.
The short version
Renovations go wrong on lead times and on decisions made too late. Tiles, taps and worktops are chosen months before they are fitted, and the ones with long leads have to be ordered first. Keep the lead time, the room and the trade who needs it on each item.

What people use today
Notion, Airtable and Milanote all work, and all have to be built first. The gap they leave is that a renovation is mostly products with prices and pictures, which is exactly what a general database is worst at holding.

- The field that decides the order things must be chosen in, and the usual cause of a stalled site.
- Room
- A spec is meaningless without it, and a hundred items ungrouped is not a spec.
- Who fits it
- The trade who needs it on site tells you the real deadline for choosing it.
- Quantity
- Tiles and flooring are bought by area with wastage, and the maths is done once and forgotten.
