The party planning checklist for the things nobody counts
A party at home comes apart on the things nobody thought to count: glasses, chairs, ice, somewhere to put coats. Plan it as a board with how many of each and who is bringing it.
The short version
Home parties fail on quantities and on assumptions about who is bringing what. Count everything per head rather than per packet, and record who is responsible for each thing. The classic failures are glassware, seating and ice, none of which anyone notices until the day.

Who it's for
Anyone hosting at home for more people than they own chairs for.
What people use today
Pinterest for the look and a printable checklist for the rest, neither of which knows how many people are coming or what is already in the cupboard.
What a board tracks here
Fields you name yourself, on the item they belong to. These are the ones that decide a purchase and have nowhere else to live.
- How many
- Per head rather than per packet, which is the arithmetic everybody skips.
- Who is bringing
- The assumption that somebody else has it covered is the single most common failure.
- Buy or borrow
- Glasses and chairs are borrowed, not bought, and that has to be arranged in advance.
- Needs a fridge
- Fridge space is the hidden constraint at every party, discovered two hours before.
