The van build, in the order the van will accept it

A van conversion has a build order that cannot be argued with: insulation before walls, wiring before both. Plan the parts as a board with the stage each belongs to, so nothing arrives three months before it can be fitted.

The short version

A van build has a fixed order. Anything behind a wall goes in before the wall: wiring, insulation, plumbing runs. Buying out of order means storing expensive parts in a van you are trying to work in. Tag every part with its build stage and its weight, because payload is a legal limit rather than a preference.

Who it's for

Anyone converting a van themselves, over months, buying parts as money and time allow.

What people use today

A spreadsheet and eleven hundred YouTube videos. The knowledge is generously shared and completely unstructured, and every builder rebuilds the same parts list from scratch.

What a board tracks here

Fields you name yourself, on the item they belong to. These are the ones that decide a purchase and have nowhere else to live.

Build stage
Anything behind a wall has to be bought before the wall. This field is the whole plan.
Weight
Payload is a legal limit. A build creeps toward it a component at a time.
Amps
The electrical budget is as real as the money one, and less forgiving.
Fits the van
Wheelbase and roof height decide almost every part, and listings assume you know yours.
